Seeing Stars Leiden: A city plunged into darkness!
On September 25, 2022, something extraordinary happened in Leiden. From 10 PM to 11:30 PM, the entire city center went dark in a bold and thrilling experiment!
Imagine walking through familiar streets suddenly shrouded in darkness, with the night sky revealing itself like never before. That's exactly what Leiden residents and visitors experienced during Seeing Stars!
We were thrilled to be part of this adventure, providing the official apps and an interactive map. With these tools in hand, people could:
- Navigate the darkened city streets
- Use their smartphones to capture the dramatic difference in the night sky
- Become real-time participants in this city-wide exploration
It was a rare chance to see how urban lighting affects our view of the stars, all while being part of a community-wide event. Leiden transformed into a living observatory, and everyone was invited to join in!
